At Teaching Keyboards by Carolyn Baldadassare, we believe that music education is more than just learning notes on a sheet. It's about cultivating a sense of cultural awareness, fostering sociability, promoting acceptance, and nurturing overall well-being. Our mission is to provide a supportive environment where students of all ages can discover their musical talents and express themselves through the beautiful art of keyboarding.

Our founder, Carolyn Baldadassare, has been dedicated to this cause for over two decades. As a certified Yamaha Keyboard Encounters instructor, she has taught countless students in Colorado communities since 2004. Carolyn is passionate about using Yamaha technology to help her students learn at their own pace. She believes that everyone has a song within them waiting to be discovered, and she takes great joy in guiding her students on this musical journey.

Carolyn's approach to teaching is centered around group learning, which she believes fosters a sense of camaraderie and mutual support among students. She encourages her students to pick their favorite songs and learn them together, teaching them not just how to play the notes but also how to perform like true artists. By doing so, she instills in them the confidence to play their songs anywhere they go in life.

PlayNSimple

Our PlayNSimple excursion video series, "Catch the Rhythm, " is an innovative approach to teaching students how to play in unison and navigate the keyboard with ease. These engaging videos keep students focused on the rhythm and melody while learning to locate the groups of black keys and master various rhythms. With songs like "Ants Go Marching" and "Boogie Woogie, " students will find themselves enjoying the learning process as much as the final performance.

Fun Keys

"Fun Keys" keyboarding classes offer a fresh take on traditional piano teaching methods. By incorporating catchy rhythms, melodies, and chord progressions that students love, we make practicing fun and engaging. Each class is divided into practice sessions where students work on Essentials and then come together to perform as an Ensemble. This approach helps build their confidence and strengthens their musical skills.

Our "Fun Keys" program also utilizes video and audio accompaniments to help students develop their musical awareness. We encourage students to express themselves through movement, singing, and keyboarding, teaching them to play in rhythm and use the strength of their arms. With tools like animated piano rolls and Synthesia, students can visualize the music and receive positive feedback on their progress.

Ensembles
