Building an inclusive community bound together by beautiful music.
Thames Valley Music School is a non-profit organization located on the beautiful campus of Connecticut College in New London, CT. Since 1979, we have been providing the highest quality musical instruction to the residents of Southeastern Connecticut. Our mission is to provide quality music instruction and performance opportunities that will promote a lifelong appreciation of music.
We offer individual instruction in piano, stringed and wind instruments, percussion, voice, and music theory, as well as ensembles for all ages and abilities. Our faculty consists of professionals who teach at area colleges and universities and perform with notable ensembles such as the United States Coast Guard Band and the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra.
Our Programs
Thames Valley Music School offers various programs for students of all ages and skill levels. We have a variety of lessons available including piano, strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, and voice. Our faculty members are experienced professionals who provide personalized instruction tailored to each student's needs and goals.
In addition to private lessons, we also offer several ensemble programs. The Thames Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra is designed for advanced students who want to gain experience playing in an orchestra. We also have string ensembles and other groups for students of different ages and abilities.
Our summer sessions provide an opportunity for students to continue their musical education during the summer months. These sessions include private lessons, ensemble rehearsals, and other musical activities designed to keep students engaged and motivated.
