Our Services

At Hanley Music Studio, we offer individual piano lessons tailored to each student's needs and talents. Our lessons are designed to foster a deep understanding and appreciation of classical music. Our experienced instructor, Jeanne Hanley Thelen, has a proven track record of producing top prize winners in local, regional, and state competitions. With over 20 years of experience in teaching piano, Ms. Thelen has a unique approach to teaching that combines a holistic approach with technical skills, theory, and musicality.

Our Approach

Our individual piano lessons are designed to develop technical skills, musicality, and an appreciation for classical music. We offer a range of lesson lengths, including weekly half-hour, 45-minute, and one-hour lessons. Our approach is focused on providing a comprehensive education in music, including theory, sight-reading, and music history. By combining technical skills with musical insight, our students will become confident and expressive performers.

Student Opportunities

At Hanley Music Studio, we believe that every student has the potential to excel. Our studio class program provides a unique opportunity for students to perform in a group setting, fostering teamwork and collaboration. Our students have the opportunity to participate in recitals, competitions, and performances, helping to build confidence and stage presence.

Accomplishments

Our students have achieved great success in local, regional, and state competitions. We are proud to have produced top prize winners in the Hillsdale College Concerto Competition, the Grand Rapids Youth Symphony Concerto Competition, and the Piano Teachers' Forum of Grand Rapids SAT Honors Recital.
