For over two decades, Ms. Amy Studios has been dedicated to providing comprehensive music lessons to students of all ages and skill levels. Our full-service music program, led by the experienced and passionate instructor Amy Donahue-Kelley, offers a well-rounded education that includes music history, theory, composition, and technique.

About the Instructor: Amy Donahue-Kelley

Amy Donahue-Kelley, the founder of Ms. Amy Studios, discovered her love for music at the age of 7 when she began playing the piano. As her passion for music grew, she continued her studies under the tutelage of classical pianist Dorothy Solmes. By the age of 16, Amy was playing professionally for various events and business functions. Since then, she has devoted her career to sharing her love for music through instruction.

History of Ms. Amy Studios

Established in 1998, Ms. Amy Studios was founded with the mission of offering music and voice lessons to individuals in and around Crystal Lake, Illinois. Ms. Amy teaches out of a private studio in her home, creating a comfortable and focused environment for her students.

Instruction Offerings

At Ms. Amy Studios, we offer a variety of instruction options to cater to our students' unique needs and interests:

1. Piano Lessons: Our piano lessons focus on building a strong foundation in piano technique, theory, and sight-reading. Students will learn to express themselves through various musical styles, from classical to contemporary.

2. Guitar Lessons: Our guitar lessons cover a range of techniques and skills, including chord progressions, fingerpicking, strumming patterns, and music theory. Students can explore various genres, such as rock, pop, blues, and folk.

3. Voice Lessons: Our voice lessons are designed to help students discover their unique vocal range and style. We focus on proper breathing techniques, pitch, articulation, and performance skills.

4. Music Theory Instruction: Our music theory classes examine the language and notation of music. Students learn about scales, drills, rhythm, and harmonic notation, further enriching their understanding and enjoyment of music.

Age and Level Range

Ms. Amy Studios welcomes students aged 5 and older. Our experienced instructor, Ms. Amy, offers lessons for beginners to advanced professionals, tailoring her instruction to meet each student at their level and fostering growth and enjoyment in their musical journey.
