More Than Music

Welcome to More than Music, where we believe music lessons enhance your life in many different ways. Founded in September 1988 by Nancy Shanahan, we've been dedicated to teaching hundreds of students in the community from pre-school age into adulthood. Our mission is to create a space where students can continue to express themselves through music. We're proud to offer music lessons to children, teens, and adults at our location in North Kingstown, RI. Our students come from surrounding towns including North Kingstown, Exeter, East Greenwich, Narragansett, South Kingstown, Warwick, and Cranston.

Services Offered

We provide music lessons for all instruments and voice. Our programs are designed to help students build confidence and self-esteem, improve scholastic performance, and develop an appreciation for commitment and practice. We offer a 16-week semester with tuition options to pay in full or in four installments. Payments can be made online with a transaction fee or by check or cash without the additional fee. We also have a summer semester program available.

Payment and Transaction Policies

Tuition for the 16-week semester is billed at the beginning of each semester. Payments can be made in full or in four installments. PayPal charges a transaction fee of 3.49% + $0.49 per transaction. Payments made by check or cash will not be subjected to this additional fee. All checks are made payable to Maddock LLC. Payments can be given to the teacher during your lesson time or mailed to our address.

Important Dates and Policies

The fall and spring semester are 16 weeks long. Lessons are purchased by the semester. We have a policy of not making up lessons beyond one student absence and any teacher-missed lessons. After the first four lessons of the semester, families are committed to the semester and will not receive any refund due to leaving the semester early. We also have a weather closure policy where lessons will be cancelled if the weather is bad. Please check our website or call us for updates.
