Makeup Policy and Customer Service Issues
The majority of the negative reviews revolve around the school's makeup policy and customer service. The policy is seen as unfair, favoring the school financially, and not customer-centric. The policy allows teachers to cancel lessons without obligation to make up for another in-person lesson, and students are forced to attend group lessons via Zoom if they need to cancel a lesson.
Unprofessional Management and Dishonesty
Reviewers also criticize the school's management, particularly the director Theresa Yu, for being unprofessional, strict, and rigid in her management of the business, prioritizing profits over customer satisfaction. Some reviewers mention being lied to and experiencing poor communication with the director.
Positive Experiences
On the other hand, some reviewers have had positive experiences with the school, praising the professionalism and passion of the teachers, the helpful staff, and the overall learning environment. Some reviewers appreciate the school's faculty, management, and opportunities for students to participate in recitals and win awards.
Recital Accommodations and Teacher Turnover
One reviewer mentions an issue with the school not accommodating an extra family member at a recital, and another reviewer notes that their favorite teachers have left the school without notice, leaving them to find a new teacher.
