At Musical Bridges, we believe that music has the power to transform lives. Our mission is to provide high-quality, innovative Neurologic Music Therapy services to children and adults in the Greater Nashville area. As a nonprofit organization, we are committed to making music therapy accessible to all.
Our Story
Founded in 2005, Musical Bridges was originally a private practice, providing music therapy services to individuals with disabilities in the Nashville and Middle Tennessee area. After 18 years of private practice, we formed a nonprofit organization to make music therapy accessible to all. Our team of experienced therapists has over 25 years of combined experience and is dedicated to providing the best possible services to our clients.
Our Services
At Musical Bridges, we offer a wide range of services to meet the unique needs of each client. Our services include:
Individual and Group Sessions: We provide one-on-one music therapy sessions for all ages and abilities. Our group sessions are designed to be inclusive and engaging for individuals of all ages and abilities.
Adapted Lessons: Our experienced therapists offer adapted music lessons in piano, guitar, voice, ukulele, and clarinet for individuals with special needs.
Groups and Camps: We offer group classes and summer camps for all abilities in preschools, therapy centers, and partner organizations.
Our Staff
Our team of experienced therapists is dedicated to providing the highest quality services to our clients. Our staff includes:
Melissa Humphries, MT-BC, NMT: Founder and Neurologic Music Therapist, specializing in the treatment of autism and developmental disorders.
Lydia Lowery, MT-BC, NMT: Neurologic Music Therapist, specializing in sensory regulation and coping skills, autism and developmental disorders, and expressive communication skills.
Our Profession
Music therapy is an established and allied health profession recognized globally. Our therapists are board-certified from the Certification Board of Music Therapists and must complete ongoing continuing education. We are active members of the American Music Therapy Association.

Our team has extensive experience working with a wide variety of populations, including:
- Individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, and speech challenges
